A leading local charity which supports people with mental health problems, Wealden, Eastbourne and Lewes MIND, has invited parliamentary campaigner Stephen Lloyd to join the Board as a Trustee.

Stephen said: "Mental health is a challenge faced by many people across the UK and to a great extent it is still a hidden disability. Over the last few years I have undertaken a fair amount of casework on behalf of people with mental health problems. Not least in supporting their efforts to maintain adequate services at the Saffron's drop-in centre which has been undergoing a lot of change this past twelve months. So when I was asked if I would like to join the Board of WELMind I was happy to help. I look forward to doing all I can to assist in raising their profile and to increase their fundraising activities. Its vital that such a respected organisation is able to continue its good work locally for many years to come."

Jackie Nicholson-Hook added, the Chair of WELMind added: "I'm very pleased that Stephen has agreed to join our Board and I'm really looking forward to working with him. WELMind has an incredibly important role to play locally for and on behalf of people with mental health problems. I'm sure Stephen will be able to put to good use his broader experience of the business world and the charity sector, as well as the invaluable contacts he has across the political spectrum in Eastbourne."
